Warm and welcoming parents in Soho, NYC, seek an experienced full-time nanny for their two sons, ages 2.5 years and 2 months old.

The schedule is Monday through Friday from:

Monday: 7am-3pm

Tues: 7am-5:30pm

Weds: 7am-5:30pm

Thurs: 7am-3pm

Friday: 7am-5pm

The position starts as soon as possible. 

The 2.5 year old is curious, highly verbal, reads daily, and loves to play! The 2-month-old is a happy and easygoing baby. While their routines and schedules are structured, free play is encouraged. The right candidate will be creative and imaginative, organized and punctual, and have the stamina and interest to keep up with them simultaneously. 

Both parents work full-time. Dad is mainly in the office, and Mom works from home and the office. 

The family’s current nanny has been with them since the eldest was a baby, and her hours will be 7:00 am until 3pm. Although this position does not involve working in tandem with her often, the right candidate will be a team player and will collaborate with her and the parents to care for the children and help the household run smoothly. The household is a positive, respectful, and structured environment. 

The family spends a few weeks in summer in Long Island. The ideal candidate will be able to stay with them, M-F. 

 

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • Engaging the child in age-appropriate activities, including reading, playing games, educational activities, imaginative play, homework help, and indoor and outdoor play.

  • Bottle feedings, tummy time, diaper changes, wash/sterilize bottles. 

  • Supporting and maintaining healthy hygiene.

  • Drop off and pick up from school and activities. 

  • Source and accompany the baby to activities and classes. 

  • Arranging playdates.

  • Healthy meal preparation and prepping snacks and school lunches.

  • Maintaining the children’ schedules (e.g., meals, naps, bedtime) 

  • Walks, trips to the park, running occasional errands.

  • Supporting the achievement of age-appropriate milestones, both cognitively and physically. 

  • Fostering independence and kindness, nurturing curiosity, and teaching manners.

  • Dress the children.

  • Keep a daily communication log.

  • Child-related chores, including dishes & children’s laundry, keeping the child’s room and main spaces clean and tidy, restocking the diaper bag and child-related items, and taking the trash out at the end of the night. 

 

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a professional nanny.

  • 2+ years of experience with infants. 

  • Experience with multiple children 

  • A strong interest in child development and passion for engaging children in age-appropriate activities. 

  • Ability to come up with creative and enriching activities.

  • A team player attitude, proactive, with great communication skills.

  • Must love reading to children. 

  • Kind, energetic, and playful.

  • Legally permitted to work in the U.S.

  • 2-3 Valid references.

  • Ability to travel domestically a few weeks out of the year.

 

A plus is to be able to travel both domestically and internationally, but it is not a requirement.

Hourly rate is approximately $30.00 - $35.00 per hour net/take-home.

Benefits: 10 days paid vacation, 5 paid sick days, paid major holidays, MTA reimbursement, and others can be negotiated for the right candidate. 

There is an opportunity for occasional weekend hours for those who are interested.
