Position Summary

New parents in Chelsea, NYC, seek an experienced Mandarin-speaking nanny for their 7 month old child. The Nanny will be responsible for providing complete care for the child under their responsibility in their employer’s home.  Perform all tasks that relate to the care of the child.  Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment in which the child can thrive and develop.  This nanny position will require traveling with the family and child. This is a HNW household. The schedule is live-in, Sunday or Monday through Friday.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide competent and kind oversight for the children, seeing to it that all their needs are met and they’re safe.

  • Communicate all matters of significance about the children’s care to the parents in a timely manner. 

  • Discipline the children when necessary and in accordance with the parents principles. 

  • Instilling good manners and a sense of responsibility. 

  • Ensure that the children are clothed, fed, and bathed during the periods that they are in your care.

  • Arrange for social interactions.

  • Safely transport the children to and from lessons, camps, etc.

  • Responsible for the children’s laundry and keeping their room and other common areas of the household where the children play neat and tidy.

  • Prepare nutritious meals and snacks. 

  • Travel with the children and the family when needed. 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of Nanny/Housekeeping experience with current First Aid and CPR certification

  • A degree in childhood education is a plus but not required.

  • Mandarin-speaking - the family is Mandarin-speaking. 

  • Good communication skills 

  • Flexible to travel and work at various locations when needed. International and Domestic.

  • Flexible to work late hours.

  • Knowledge of the community and activities available to children. 

  • Physical stamina and mobility, including the ability to reach, kneel, and bend, and the ability to lift, push, and pull 20 lbs.

  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of ethics and professionalism. 

  • Must be well organized, a self-starter, and able to work independently. 

  • Diplomatic, tactful, and discrete concerning confidential information. Must demonstrate unquestionable integrity at all times.

Compensation: starting at $150,000 per year, depending on experience, credentials, and the agreed-upon schedule starting on Sunday or Monday.
