Loving parents in Rye, NY, seek an experienced, warm, and engaging full-time nanny for their daughter,  age 18 months old. The position starts as soon as possible. 

The schedule is Monday through Friday as follows:

Monday: 4pm-8pm 

Tuesday: 7am-8pm  

Wednesday: 4pm-8pm  

Thursday: 7am-8pm

Friday: 4pm- 8:00pm or 10:00 pm 

 

They are flexible on the exact timing and can make a 40-hour-a-week work schedule for the right candidate seeking FT hours. 

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • Engaging the child with age-appropriate activities.

  • Daycare pick-up and taking the child to activities. (driving)

  • Outdoor play, indoor play, and arranging playdates or daily outdoor excursions.

  • Reading to the child and encouraging creative play.

  • Meal preparation for the child.

  • Child’s laundry.

  • Maintaining the child’s eating and napping schedules. 

  • Maintaining an open dialogue with the parents about day-to-day developments. 

  • Keeping the child’s room and the main spaces in the home clean and tidy. 

  • Bedtime and bath-time routines.

 

The ideal candidate will be energetic and warm, with great experience working with young children, and someone who genuinely loves caring for children and is seeking a long-term position in which they can grow with the child and family. 

The child is upbeat and energetic, warm, curious, social, and loves to stay active and engage with others. They are looking for someone who is patient, engaging, attentive, kind, and capable of enforcing routines/schedules and employing positive discipline.

Both parents work FT, some days from home and others in the city. They are seeking someone they can rely on and trust to provide excellent, fun, and loving care to their child in their absence. Flexibility with the schedule will be appreciated. There will likely be opportunities for additional babysitting on weekends if it works with the nanny’s schedule.

Must feel comfortable around dogs; the family is getting a Chocolate Labrador Retriever in January who will be 4 months old. 

 

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant nanny experience, including experience with preschool-age children.

  • 2-3 relevant references.

  • Driver’s license and experience driving with children.

  • CPR and First Aid Certified (or willing to get it renewed).

  • Must like dogs.

 

Compensation: approximately $35 + gross hourly

Benefits: 10 days of vacation, 5-6 sick days per year, paid holidays. Other benefits can be negotiated depending on the needs of the right candidate.
