#467 - Full-Time Nanny Needed on the Upper East Side

Loving parents seek a Full-time Nanny for their daughter, currently 8 months old, on the Upper East Side of Manhattan starting the first week in April. 

The general schedule is Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am - 5:30/60m, guaranteed 45 hours per week. Some flexibility is needed.

The right candidate will be kind, outgoing, sweet, nurturing, safety-conscious, attentive, detail-oriented, and vigilant. Someone with positive energy who will come up with fun activities, think proactively, and prioritize what’s best for the baby. Someone who takes initiative and has great communication skills.

 

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • Bottle feedings and wash/sterilize bottles.

  • Diaper changes and supporting and maintaining healthy hygiene.

  • Making purees, introducing solids, and general Meal preparation.

  • Maintaining the child’s schedules (e.g., meals, naps) 

  • Walks, trips to the park, indoor and outdoor play and activities. 

  • Reading and imaginative play with the child. 

  • Supporting the achievement of age-appropriate milestones, both cognitively and physically. 

  • Engaging the child in and coming up with fun, age-appropriate activities.

  • Fostering independence and kindness and nurturing her curiosity.

  • Dress the child.

  • Keep a daily communication log with the parents and share updates as needed. 

  • Child-related chores, including children’s laundry, folding and putting away her clothes, keeping the child’s room and main spaces clean and tidy, taking out the garbage from the diaper pail, restocking the diaper bag, etc.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a nanny.

  • Ability to travel domestically a few times per year. Private accommodations will be provided. 

  • Legally permitted to work in the U.S.

  • 2-3 Valid references. 

  • CPR certification or willing to get it renewed

  • Tdap, Covid, Flu, vaccinated. 

  • Attentive and highly vigilant (no phones/scrolling/texting while engaging with the baby) 

  • Excellent communication skills.

A major plus is a candidate who is willing to do basic meal preparation for the family when otherwise not responsible for the child (e.g. if the mom has the baby).

The parents ask that the nanny please avoid scented perfumes near the baby and in the home.

 

Compensation: $30.00 - 35.00 gross hourly for the first 40 hours per week. OT on additional hours. 

Benefits: 15 paid vacation days (some weeks at the parent's choosing and others at the nanny’s choosing) 6 sick/personal days, major holidays off, unlimited metro card. A healthcare stipend can be negotiated for the right candidate.
