**POSITION FILLED** Nanny/ Family Assistant  in NYC

A warm and welcoming family near Columbia University, NYC, seeks an engaging and supportive Nanny/Family Assistant to start at the beginning of January, 2023. The child is 16 months old. 

The general schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 6:00pmET or 10:00am - 6:00pm ET. There is some flexibility with the start and end times. 

The ideal candidate will be nurturing, consistent, gentle, creative, and a team player who wants to work collaboratively with the parents and appreciates open communication. Someone who loves working with children, especially toddlers, and  is interested in child development and watching children unfold into who they are. Mom and Dad are both educators, mom works PT from home, and Dad works at the University. 

Job responsibilities include everything related to keeping the child safe and engaged;.

  • Engaging the child in fun and active age-appropriate educational activities.

  • Reading.

  • Taking the child to activities, parks, and playdates.

  • Planning activities.

  • Child’s laundry.

  • Diaper changes. 

  • Meal preparation.

  • Indoor and outdoor play. 

  • Help keep the main spaces clean and tidy.

Family Assistant Responsibilities (as needed and when  no conflict is imposed with childcare responsibilities):

  • Restocking household items.

  • Maintain a daily communication log. 

  • Family laundry.

  • Running errands.

  • Picking up groceries and basic level meal preparation.

  • Assistance with the organization of the home.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2+ years of relevant nanny experience.

  • Legally permitted to work in the U.S. 

  • Clean background check.

  • 2-3 excellent references. 

  • Covid Vaccinated and Boosted.

Salary: + / - $30.00 - $35.00 an hour, depending on experience and credentials.

Benefits: 10 days of paid vacation, 5 sick days, paid major holidays, MTA reimbursement, and a stipend for professional development.
