#458 - Nanny / Cook Needed in Harlem, NYC

Seeking a dedicated and engaging Nanny / Cook in Central Harlem near  Morningside Park in a warm and active household. The family of five values kindness, reliability, and a caring attitude towards others. 

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 1 PM - 6:30 PM, with one late night per week (until 9 PM).

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • The main responsibility is for the 8-year-old daughter, who is a bright and outgoing child who loves reading, art, imaginative play, and board games. The other 2 children are teenagers and do not require a nanny. 

  • Cooking and laundry for the whole family before picking up the 8-year-old child from the bus stop after school.

The typical daily schedule is as follows:

  • 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM: Prepare family dinner (usually vegetarian or fish-based)

  • Laundry for the family.

  • 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM: Pick up the child from the bus stop, snack, and homework assistance, and engage in activities like games, art, and reading.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant nanny experience.

  • Trustworthy, responsible, and attentive with a calm and nurturing demeanor.

  • Strong cooking skills and enjoyment in preparing family meals.

  • Up-to-date with vaccinations, including COVID-19 and Flu.

Additional Notes:

  • The family keeps a Kosher household; training on dietary rules and meal prep will be provided.

  • The family follows a predominantly Pescatarian and Vegetarian diet, however, they do eat meat about once a week.

  • A weekly menu will be provided, and the family will order the groceries. However, they welcome your favorite dishes and recipes! 

  • A college education and/or appreciation for reading and creative arts is a major plus but not a requirement.

  • The ability to swim is preferred; the child likes to go to the local pool in summer.

 

Salary: $35 + per hour (gross)
